Bones Style: The Devil in the Details

I unwittingly stumbled upon an update for Deschanel Style at a vegan high fashion sample sale that I attended in New York City this weekend. They had some great shoes and clothing, but what I was really interested in were the Vaute Couture Vegan Coats.

When we got there, we discovered that Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart, the designer/mastermind behind them, was there as well.

It was a total pleasure meeting her. She's one of those people that you feel like you've known forever and you're just catching up with an old friend. At one point she mentioned that Emily Deschanel has two of the Vaute Couture coats: A black one and the "The El in Luxe Blue", which she's wearing in Thursday night's episode of Bones, "The Devil in the Details".

 Unfortunately, the jacket there was a size too big for me but that still didn't stop me from trying it on!

She had no idea I was a fan of Bones, nor that I ran DeschanelStyle, so it was just a random, odd event. Even when I'm not looking for Deschanel Style info, it still seems to find me these days.

Benefit for The Humane Society (December 12, 2009)

"Despite the pouring rain and a slew of holiday parties going on around Los Angeles Saturday night, Zooey and Emily Deschanel drew a crowd for a party sponsored by Vanity Fair and Cotton Incorporated at the home of Creative Artists Agency managing partner David O’Connor. Emily, snacked on vegetarian pizza fireside in the living room while chatting with her pal Ginnifer Goodwin. Both actresses support the evening’s beneficiary, the Humane Society of the United States. “I love animals, so obviously I’m for wearing cotton as opposed to fur, wool or leather,” said Emily, clad in a vintage dress from The Way We Wore."

Bones Style: The Parts in the Sum of the Whole / 100th Episode Party (January 26, 2010)

On December 12, 2009, Emily attended a benefit, hosted by Vanity Fair and Cotton, for The Humane Society. At the event, Emily posed with this dress and the tag on it said, "2000's/Cotton Tuleh Autum Gold Floral Dress to be worn by Emily Deschanel in the 2009/2010 season 5 of Fox's Bones"

The dress was worn in the 100th episode, "The Parts in the Sum of the Whole" which aired on April 8, 2010.
