Lately, I've been finding myself gravitating towards Zooey Deschanel's style moreso than Emily's so I've decided to start adding Zooey's as well. This is DeschanelStyle, afterall. Don't worry, there will still be plenty of Emily/Brennan's clothes, but the blog will now focus on both of the Deschanel sisters.
For the first Zooey related post, I bring you two of my favorite dress from the Cotton "The Fabric of Our Lives" video. (Other dresses/outfits from the video will be posted within the next week)
Dress #1
Jacobs slate violet ikat cotton knotted strap dress
Dress #2
Red lotus Cotton Faille 'Fiona' Bow Dress
Both dresses are Marc by Marc Jacobs and currently on sale at Bluefly.com

Bones Style: The Proof in the Pudding
The other day, I received this email from Sharon:
"Hi! I was wondering if you happen to know anything about the trench coat Brennan wore at the end of "The Proof in the Pudding"? The one she wore when she walked out of the diner. I just thought it was cute! Thanks a bunch! Sharon :)"
After a bit of digging, I got your answer!
Brennan is wearing a Burberry Trench Coat in Black Amethyst. While the image pictured above is the identical color/design, I think the cut is more similar to the Double Breasted Check Trench Coat.
I love doing research on specific things that you guys email me about, so keep 'em coming!

Bones Style: The Devil in the Details
I unwittingly stumbled upon an update for Deschanel Style at a vegan high fashion sample sale that I attended in New York City this weekend. They had some great shoes and clothing, but what I was really interested in were the Vaute Couture Vegan Coats.
When we got there, we discovered that Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart, the designer/mastermind behind them, was there as well.
It was a total pleasure meeting her. She's one of those people that you feel like you've known forever and you're just catching up with an old friend. At one point she mentioned that Emily Deschanel has two of the Vaute Couture coats: A black one and the "The El in Luxe Blue", which she's wearing in Thursday night's episode of Bones, "The Devil in the Details".
Unfortunately, the jacket there was a size too big for me but that still didn't stop me from trying it on!
She had no idea I was a fan of Bones, nor that I ran DeschanelStyle, so it was just a random, odd event. Even when I'm not looking for Deschanel Style info, it still seems to find me these days.
To read more about Leanne (and Vaute Couture), check out this article in Time Out Chicago.
